SMS Terms & Opt-in Policy
Last updated: July 2026
diol is an accounts-receivable platform used by businesses to send account and payment reminders about the commercial invoices they are owed. Text messages sent through diol go out in the name of the individual business that owes the invoice, not from diol. This policy explains how that text-messaging program works and the choices a recipient has.
1. Program description
When you provide your mobile number to a business that uses diol, that business may send you text messages about your account: reminders that an invoice is due or overdue, a link to pay, confirmation once you have paid, and short replies to a message you send back. These are account-and-transaction messages tied to a real invoice you owe, not marketing.
2. How you opt in
You are only texted after you have agreed to receive texts from the business, for example by providing your mobile number and consenting on an intake form, contract, estimate, invoice, or checkout where the business collects it. Businesses that use diol are required to have that consent before any text is sent, and diol enforces a per-recipient consent flag: no consent on file means no text is sent. Consent is never a condition of purchase.
3. Message frequency
Frequency varies and depends on the invoice and the business’s reminder schedule. A typical reminder sequence sends a small number of touches (a mix of email, text, and sometimes a call) spread over roughly a month, and it stops as soon as the invoice is paid, disputed, or you ask it to. diol also enforces quiet hours (no texts outside 8am–9pm in your local time) and a cap on how often you can be contacted.
4. Sample messages
A message you receive looks like this:
- “Northstar Creative: invoice #1042 for $2,350 is 14 days past due. Pay here: [link]. Reply STOP to opt out.”
- “Thanks — we’ve received your payment on invoice #1042. Nothing further is owed.”
Every reminder identifies the business, the invoice, the amount, and a way to pay.
5. Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan and carrier. diol and the business do not charge you for receiving these texts.
6. Opting out (STOP) and help (HELP)
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will stop receiving texts, and diol suppresses the number across every channel it controls for that business. Reply HELP for help, or contact the business directly. You can also opt back in later by contacting the business.
7. Your mobile information is never sold or shared
Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are used only to deliver the messages you agreed to receive and to honor your opt-out. They are never sold, and never shared with third parties for their own marketing. No mobile opt-in data is shared with any third party for any purpose other than delivering the messaging service. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle data overall.
8. Who is responsible
The business that owes the invoice is the sender of record and is responsible for having your consent and for the content of its messages. diol provides the platform and enforces consent, quiet hours, opt-outs, and content rules. Messaging through diol complies with the TCPA and CAN-SPAM, and is used only for genuine commercial invoices — never for personal (consumer) debts or unsolicited marketing.
9. Contact
Questions about a specific message are best directed to the business that sent it. For questions about diol’s messaging program, contact support@diol.app. See also our Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service.
